Vandalism fears at play park

Concerns have been raised about potential vandalism at the new play park in Solitude Park.

One Banbridge resident has noted that an eight-foot high fence is being built, presumably ‘to keep vandals out and protect the thousands of pounds of new play equipment being installed’ but a gate has not been replaced at one of the entrances.

This, he fears will leave a “ a substantial gap for youths to climb through and get in to this new park when it is opened”.

“Why has it [the gate] not been replaced?” said the concerned resident. “As we all know youths will be able to climb in at this entrance.”

No one at Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Boorough Council was available for comment.
