‘Reflectornet’ was developed by UPU to provide an efficient and cost effective alternative to the standard plastic pallet wrapping used to transport fresh or perishable goods. The first container of the innovative product has been dispatched to South Africa where it will primarily be used by food co-operatives and wholesalers.

The win is another coup for UPU, which recently expanded its production facilities at Dromore and already exports to around 25 countries worldwide. It has been supplying its products to NNZ, a multinational company which specialises in packaging for agricultural and industrial markets, over the last five years – primarily in the Dutch/Benelux market.

“As a major global producer and exporter of fresh fruit and vegetables, South Africa offers us an exciting new market opportunity, hence we welcome this new business extension with our valued customer NNZ,” said Gary Millar, International Sales Director for UPU Industries.

“‘Reflectornet’ offers distributors of fresh produce a more efficient means of securing and protecting goods for transport, reducing condensation while allowing them to breathe.”
