Attwood finds behaviour of one MLA ‘plain embarrassing’

ENVIRONMENT Minister Alex Attwood says the behaviour of one unnamed MLA during a recent ministerial visit to Narrow Water was “plain embarrassing for I and other political representatives in attendance.”

He made the remarkable admission in response to an Assembly Question by Sinn Féin MLA Caitríona Ruane who asked whether he was on official business at Narrow Water in Warrenpoint on Friday, October 5, 2012.

Replying that he was he stated: “The behaviour of one MLA at Narrow Water was plain embarrassing for I and other political representatives in attendance.”

Mr Attwood did not name, which MLA, was the source of the embarrassment but the MLAs for South Down are in alphabetical order: Megan Fearon (Sinn Féin), John McCallister (UUP), Karen McKevitt (SDLP), Margaret Ritchie (SDLP), Caitríona Ruane (Sinn Féin) and Jim Wells (DUP).
