Two rescued in flat fire
TWO men were rescued from a house fire at Aldervale flats on Saturday night.
According to the fire service the fire was started deliberately.
Staff at the regional control centre used all their expertise to give advice to the caller who reported the fire at the flats shortly before midnight. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus led two men to safety and dealt with the small fire in the stairwell using a hosereel jet.
The two men, who according to fire service appeared to be under the influence of alcohol, were treated at the scene.
