Trust support workers rewarded
Fiona Keogh and Sabrina McKinney, Orthoptic Assistants, accepted the award at the ceremony in the City Hotel, Londonderry on behalf of the team following their nomination from Orthoptist Lisa Wallace.
Both work alongside Marie Stennett who share the award together for their work with schools. They perform a dynamic role both in supporting the Orthoptic Special School Vision Assessment Service and the delivery of the diagnostic visual field service throughout the Western Trust.

Hide AdTheir role requires them to liaise with the school, parents/ guardians, other Health professionals and support the Orthoptist when in school as well as delivering the diagnostic visual field service in Altnagelvin, Tyrone County Hospital and South West Acute Hospital.
The Special Schools that receive this on site assessment are Rossmar (Limavady), Ardnashee (Londonderry), Knockavoe (Strabane), Arvalee (Omagh) and Willowbridge (Enniskillen). The team continue to provide and develop both services.
