‘Troubled Tales’ display

This Thursday (March 27) sees the launch at Banbridge Old Town Hall of a public display produced by local students and entitled ‘Memories of the Troubles’.

History students from New Bridge Integrated College and Banbridge High School came together to record the memories of local people who lived through ‘The Troubles’. Pupils explored the impact of perceptions, stereotypes and the legacy of the Troubles.

They used the medium of art, music and poetry to produce a wall of Troubled Tales about the conflict.

The theme ofconflict is explored further to include an exhibition to commemorate the personal experience of World War One.

Supported by CRED-Community Relations Equality and Diversity, Banbridge District Council Good Relations Programme and Facing Our History, the project will be launched at 2pm on Thursday and opened to the public from 3-pm. Admission is free.
