Tributes of love signed in book of condolence

Mary Bradley Verhoeven was holidaying with husband Marc in Cape Verde, off the coast of Senegal in Africa when she lost her footing and fell from a cliff, on Friday March 7.

Founder of the Via Wings charity Gail Redmond felt it was appropriate to give the people of Dromore an opportunity to express their feelings of loss for Mary, who was involved with several charitable groups in the town.

“A book of condolence is available for everyone to sign in our shop, Hope & Soul” said Gail, “and I’d encourage absolutely anyone who feels they would like to leave a comment to come along.”

Gail said that many people had already signed the book expressing their sadness at the news of Mary’s death showing just how much she’ll be missed.

“The general feeling is that Mary was a woman with a huge smile, a big heart and a strong faith”.

Mary had been a board member and supporter of the faith based charity located in Dromore.

The aim of Via Wings is to provide a caring and non-judgmental environment for the entire community and make real and positive impact on the lives of local people.

Speaking of the positive impact of Mary’s work with the charity and the inspiration that she was, Gail said: “Her passing has left a hole that will never be filled.”

Mary was also involved in the work of St Colman’s Catholic Church, and along with her husband were supporters of The Order of Malta inDromore.
