The young star is survived by his father Steven, stepmother Karen, brother Harry, girlfriend Angela and young Jackson, to whom he was devoted.

Lisburn racer Drew Jamison, said: “It’s a terrible loss to the sport. I have known Bruce for a long time and he loved racing. He had what it took to be a great racer and a great friend. Such a caring and nice guy. He will be sadly missed and my thoughts are with his family.”

Fellow racer Timmy Elwood, commented: “Bruce was a brilliant friend to me; inside the racing circle and outside. He was always there for me and I will miss our friendship so much.

“He was always first with the daft ideas but they have given me the memories I will always remember him by. Bruce is gone now but I will never forget the bright and brilliant friend he was and will remain forever in my heart.”

Lisburn’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Andrew Ewing, who is a close friend of the Moulds’ family, commented: “Bruce was a very popular young man, who was held in the highest esteem by all who had the privilege of knowing him. The Moulds family are lovely people and my heart goes out to them.”

The Mayor of Lisburn City Council, Councillor Margaret Tolerton, also paid tribute to Bruce.

She said: “The loss of life is a tragedy and all the harder as Bruce was 20 years old and had his whole life ahead of him. It is simply a life cut short. I extend my condolences to his partner and to baby Jackson, who will be feeling enormous pain at this time.

“I hope that friends and family bond together at this very sad time, and that they remember that Bruce died doing what he enjoyed. All of us know the dangers associated with this sport. I send my heartfelt sympathies to Bruce’s family, partner and to young Jackson,” she said.
