Trial starts of Scarva man facing 29 child sex charges

Jason Paul Magill (38), of Moody Park, is pleading not guilty to all the charges, which relate to three children.

The defendant, who had been in custody since July 2013, was scheduled to appear at Newry Crown Court.

He is charged with two charges of inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity; three charges of possessing an indecent photograph of a child; and six charges of causing a child under 13 to watch a sexual 
act.He is also charged with five threats to kill; eight counts of sexual assault of a child under 13; four charges of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in a sexual act; and one charge of meeting a child following sexual grooming.

The offences are alleged to have taken place between February 1, 2012 and July 26, 2013 in the country court 
division of Armagh and South Down and in the county
 court division of Londonderry.
