Top honours for recycling scheme

Speaking at the monthly council meeting last Monday night, Council chairman Joan Baird said it was a tribute to the staff that the council’s new waste recycling scheme had come home with top honours.

“We beat Belfast and Craigavon in the final and congratulations must go to everyone concerned with the project,” she said. “As well as the staff on the ground, I would also like to pass on the council’s congratulations to the ratepayers who have stuck rigidly to recycling their waste.”
