Yasim Rachelle Rosborough, Regency Manor, Dollingstown, was banned from driving for 12 months last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court. She was also fined £150 for driving while unfit on June 15 this year.

The court heard that in the early hours of the morning police found the defendant at Kensington Drive in Dollingstown. The keys were still in a vehicle which was nearby. An evidential breath test gave a reading of 70, twice the limit.

A solicitor representing the defendant said that on the night in question there had been a family dispute. She added that Rosborough had taken alcohol and had been reported to police by a family member.

The solicitor said her client was embarrassed to find herself before the court. She explained Rosborough had taken early retirement to look after her mother and she would find this more difficult without her licence.

If she completes a drink driving course her ban will be reduced to nine months.
