Titanic achievement by young entrepreneurs

Pupils from New-Bridge Integrated College, St Patrick’s College and Banbridge Academy will be proving that they have entrepreneurial spirit when they attend a special event this week.

The local pupils will be joining students from schools throughout Northern Ireland who take part in the Young Enterprise scheme to celebrate their achievements throughout the year.

The young people will be attending the Young Enterprise Gala Celebration on Thursday (March 27) at Titanic Belfast.

The event, held in partnership with Invest NI, will recognise the achievements of young people across Northern Ireland in the Young Enterprise Company and Team Programmes.

These programmes give young people the opportunity to start real businesses under the guidance of volunteer business advisers from local industry.

More than 1,500 young people take up the challenge each year with 600 filling Titanic Belfast for the annual awards ceremony.

The top six companies will be named at the event, each of which will attend the Northern Ireland Company of the Year Competition at Belfast City Hall in May.

Young Enterprise NI is a charity delivering hands-on business education to more than 100,000 4-25 year old young people each year.

The charity is principally funded by the Department of Education. For more information including volunteering and fundraising opportunities please visit www.yeni.co.uk.
