Timely talk about Europe for Carrickfergus Rotary Club

Carrickfergus Rotary Club members have received a timely talk on the workings of the European Union's executive body.

Karen Morrison, a member of the Information and Communications team at the European Commission in Belfast, conducted a lively information and question and answer session during a recent visit.

Meanwhile, in a busy period for Carrickfergus Rotary, Brenda Houston, president, welcomed Ballymena Rotarians, Willie McKean and Norman Cahoon to one of the club’s weekly meeting.

A statement from Carrickfergus Rotary explained: “They were sampling Rotary ‘Carrickfergus style’ and chose a busy evening to visit when the cheques from the Tree of Hope were being handed out and when Carrickfergus Club’s newest associate member Hilary McGavock was the speaker and gave a lively and enlightening insight into the work of a medical practice manager.

“The Carrickfergus Club is one of just a few clubs in Rotary District 1160 to introduce associate membership so it was useful for our visitors to see it in action.
