Time to register for junior youth programme

BANBRIDGE Youth Resource centre has enjoyed another successful summer scheme in the town, with 70 children involved in a range of exciting activities over the course of two weeks.

The children were able to put their summer boredom on ‘hold’ for two weeks and participate in a fun -packed programme which included trips to Lisburn Swimming Pool, Belfast Zoo, Iveagh Cinema and Newcastle.

The group members were also able to create some fine art and get involved in team sports while making new friends.

Eimear McCurdie, centre based manager, said parents were highly impressed with the scheme which represented great value for money and many were already talking about bringing their children in September to start the Junior Youth Programme.

“Banbridge Youth Resource Centre is a part of the community and we would like to invite parents and their children to get involved this September,” said Eimear. “The Junior Youth Programme will be starting on Thursday, 9th September, running from 6.30pm until 8.30pm and membership for the year is 2, with 50 pence paid every Thursday evening.

“The children will have a lot to look forward to over the year, including sports and art, trips out and a residential experience. Also, Banbridge Youth Resource Centre Football will be starting on Wednesday, 8th September, from 6.30pm until 7.30pm and this is open to all young people.”

Anyone who would like to register their child for September is asked to drop into the centre for further details.
