A large number of glasses and bottles were broken when a stool was thrown across the bar.

The defendant also pushed over another person when he attempted to get back into the bar.

Fitzpatrick was identified on CCTV. A solicitor representing the defendant said he had been drinking with friends when someone made a derogatory comment about his brother who was killed some years ago.

She added that Fitzpatrick then reacted in the heat of the moment.

He had a record but nothing related to disorderly behaviour.
