Three generations of same family set to abseil for cancer charity

THREE generations of the same family are set to go "over the top" next month in aid of cancer victims across the UK.

Members of the Ferguson family will bravely abseil down the side of the Europa Hotel in Belfast on March 14 to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.

Billy Ferguson, chairperson of Banbridge Local Committee of Cancer Research UK, will take on the daring challenge together with his son, Robert, and grandson, Brian.

Billy said, “We want to support Cancer Research UK because we all know someone who has been affected by cancer.

“The abseil will be a challenge but it should also be great fun.”

Kevin Harper, Area Volunteer Manager for Cancer Research UK, said, “Cancer Research UK currently spends around 2.5 million each year in Northern Ireland alone on ground-breaking research.

“This life-saving work would not be possible without the support of people like Billy and his family.
