Anthony McAtamney, Roes Hill, Lawrencetown, was fined £150 last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court for driving without due care and attention. He was also ordered to pay a £15 offender’s levy and given three penalty points.

The court heard that a two vehicle road traffic collision happened on December 15 last year on the Dromore Road, Lurgan, at the junction of Moss Road and Summerhill Road.

The car driven by the defendant had pulled out of the junction and collided with the other vehicle whose driver suffered minor injuries.

McAtamney said that he thought the road was clear and that was why he pulled out.

A barrister added that McAtamney had been driving for 26 years without a blemish on his record.
