‘Tech’ clubs on the move
Banbridge Senior Citizens Club and other tenants of the town’s Old Technical Building are to move out as “essential health and Safety work” is carried out.
Members wrote to the council to express concern at having to move from their weekly meeting place of more than 50 years but the council stressed the work was “urgently required.”
The council proposes the club meet in the the King George V pavilion for the six to eight months the work is likely to take.
All tenants of the Old Technical Building have been asked to find alternative accomodation by 30 January and the council says it is trying to assist that process.
