Tasty evening for February meeting of Cullybackey WI

PRESIDENT, Ruth Orr, welcomed everyone to the February meeting of Cullybackey Womens Institute.

Members who had been successful in recent competitions were congratulated; To Barbara Burnett who won the area bowls competition, Maureen Adams for receiving a highly commended fof her painting exhibit and in crafts to Rosemary Kennedy who got A+ for her work over counted thread and to Ruth Orr who got an A for macrame. Best wishes were extended to Phylis McIlroy who has been invited to sit on the International Sub-committee.

The speaker was Contstable Richard Adams the neighbourhood PSNI Officer.who described his role in the community and his objectives for the furure. This was followed by a very constructive question time.

Recipies were shared by Jenny Carleton, Rosemary Kennedy and Eileen Wylie and tasty samples were provided for supper. The February birthday girl was Lily Eaton.

The following recipe for a tasty sandwich filling, entered by Elizabeth McIlory won the monthly competition;

Brie,smokey bacon and pesto with some fresh basil and chopped red pepper. Season with paprika and serve on wholemeal bread or chiabatta for an exotic taste.

A Countrywoman's Song brought an enjoyable evening to a close.
