Talk at the Outlet as part of Aventureland Weekend at the Outlet

INTREPID explorers, Lynne and Noel Hanna, will be giving inspiring talks at the Outlet as part of the second annual Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend.

There will also be an exciting range of activities for families to get involved in during the weekend, which takes place on March 24-25.

The Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB), in association with OutdoorNI.com, has launched the second annual Northern Ireland Adventureland Weekend, providing families, couples and groups of friends with the opportunity to get out and try something new right on their doorstep.

Following the event’s huge success in 2011, this year’s action-packed weekend is set to be even more exciting with an innovative group of local businesses getting involved and offering a wide range of adventure activities at great rates. This year’s event offers two levels of opportunity to try something new, a discounted price of just £10 or a staggering 50% off the standard price.

The Mournes are offering an astounding range of activities. Castlewellan Forest Park will be hiving with Life Adventure Centre offering half price canoe hire and Outdoor Concepts offering a family friendly session of archery, canoeing and maze mayhem. Ireland’s only mountain boarding centre GASP Surfin’ Dirt in Bryansford will teach you the basics of mountain boarding and you’ll be blasting down the slopes in no time.

clearsky Adventure Centre in Castle Ward and Action Outdoors in Delamont Country Park are offering a whole host of activities for families on Strangford Lough and coasteering for the more adventurous at Ballyhornan. Step on board the Strangford Sea Safari to explore the sights and sounds on the lough at high speed, you’ll be sure to encounter a seal along the way.

NITB Product Marketing Officer Helen Carey said the weekend provides an opportunity for people to explore their adventurous side and to try a new activity. “The 2011 Adventureland Weekend was a huge success with over 1,400 people taking part in 80 different events and we are delighted to launch the 2012 event with even more activities on offer,” said Helen. “There’s such a wide range of things to do and fantastic discounts on offer, everybody, from groups of friends, to couples or families with young children, can go outdoors and try something new,” she added.
