Tackle trafficking

Upper Bann MP David Simpson has welcomed the rescue of twenty victims of human trafficking in Northern Ireland.

Mr Simpson said the discovery of victims of human trafficking right in the heart of the community reinforces the need for action to tackle this crime.

Mr Simpson, who is a member of the all-party group on human trafficking in Westminster said: “I saw this as an epidemic across Northern Ireland three years ago, having spread from mainland Europe. It was denied at the time, but now it has came to roost in my constituency. These latest incidents bring home to us all the need to ensure that action is taken to tackle this despicable trade.”
