Sympathy to the Colgan family

Local politicians have expressed their sympathy to the Colgan family following the tragic death of 14 year old Mark .

Sinn Féin Councillor Brendan Curran said the young Aghaderg/Ballyvarley Gael would be sadly missed by his family, friends, the GAA and the wider community.

“The thoughts and prayers of the entire community will be with the Colgan family at this very sad time,” he said. “I would like to express my sympathy to Mark’s friends and entire family circle.”

Upper Bann MP David Simpson said: “I was horrified to hear of the fatal accident on the Scarva Road on Thursday morning. As news filtered through that it was a young boy who had been fatally injured it was just unthinkable.

“No one anticipated that what started out as a normal day for young Mark on his way to school would end in such tragedy.

“I know that local people will want to express their sincere sympathies to the wider family circle

Upper Bann UUP MLA Jo-Anne Dobson also extended her “thoughts and prayers to the Colgan family circle and Marks friends. She added: “Tragedies like this send a ripple through our local communities and stand as a stark reminder of the dangers posed by our roads.”
