“Across the UK and Ireland the Dogs Trust has 21 rehoming centres, and within Northern Ireland they rehomed over 400 dogs in 2015.

“They also invest significant resources on information services and education regarding responsible dog ownership.

“I believe that this Dogs Trust reception at Stormont was a worthwhile event to attend.

“As a dog owner myself I am aware that people across the local area take a keen interest in the welfare of dogs and as such I believe it is important that we recognise the work of organisations such as the Dogs Trust do in this area.

“I wish the charity well moving forward and hope that they continue to be successful in their work.”
