Susan to tackle North Africa’s highest mountain

A DUNGANNON Moy Park employee will take on the challenge of a lifetime next month when she attempts to climb North Africa’s highest mountain for charity.

Susan Baird is part of a team from across the food and drinks sector that is climbing Morocco’s Mt Toubkal to raise funds for Farm Africa. The UK charity is working to tackle hunger in eastern Africa, not with food aid but through agricultural innovation and business enterprise.

Susan, who works as a Health and Safety Assistant for the food company Moy Park in Dungannon, has previously taken part in a charity abseil; however the mountain climb for Farm Africa will undoubtedly be the most challenging charity fundraiser she has taken on so far.

With the rest of the team, including three Moy Park colleagues, Susan will set off from the foothills of the Atlas Mountains for a three day trek up Mt Toubkal which stands at 4167 metres above sea level.
