Stepping out with Bertie Peacock Youths dancers!

BERTIE Peacock Youths are holding a fundraising evening of Jigs and Reels this Friday (October 15).

The fun event will be held on the Lodge Hotel at 8pm and will be compered by Brian Moore.

Over the last number of weeks, some of the dads and team coaches have been put through their paces by their “professional” tutors from The Bann She’s Irish Dancing team.

North Coast Integrated College has been echoing to the sounds of Irish music and some frustrated hoofers trying to learn their one-two-threes.

The dads and coaches were tasked with learning the intricate steps of Irish dancing and they will then compete in couples on the night.

The “celebrity” dancers taking part in Jigs and Reels are Andrew Henry, James Boyle, Richard O’Connor, Darren McCrudden, Trevor McGonigle, Michael Wan, Liam Crawford and “Bing” McLaughlin.

As well as the competition itself, there will also be an exhibition by The Bann She’s followed by a disco by with Davy Black.
