Special sports day for Bridge PS pupils

HAVING been selected as one of five schools across Northern Ireland to win a ‘Dale Farm 2012 Dreams Sports Day’, Bridge Integrated Primary School hosted its event on Wednesday June 13 – bringing Olympic celebration and spirit to the local area.

Primary seven pupil, Eunan Quinn designed a sports day trophy inspired by the London Games and the importance of dairy in a balanced diet and active lifestyle to win the Sports Day package sponsored by local dairy business Dale Farm alongside the Mary Peters Trust, Podium4Sport and the Belfast Telegraph.

As a winner, the school received an equipment pack from Dale Farm and Podium4Sport worth over £500; refreshments and medals provided by Dale Farm and a visit and inspirational talk from local sporting hero and Paralympic athlete Janet Gray.

Brian Beattie from Dale Farm said, “Bridge Integrated Primary School hosted a sports day which was full of colour, enthusiasm and fun – despite the wet weather.

“The children made brilliant use of the equipment pack and loved hearing from Janet Gray – especially getting the chance to hold her gold medal.”
