Upper Bann Ulster Unionist MLA Jo-Anne Dobson has praised the club members and volunteers of the Banbridge Special Olympics Club who organised a coffee morning in the Old Town Hall on Saturday morning.

In total over £1,400 was raised which will help the athletes train and compete in their chosen sports.

Commenting Mrs Dobson said: “It was great to see so many friendly faces in the Old Town Hall to help support the fantastic work of the Club.

“Well done to everyone involved especially the army of people helping with the buns, tea and coffee.

“They have been so successful over the years but we should never forget the important contribution they are making to the lives of the athletes and their families.

“It was great to hear that so much had been raised and I know that Joan and the entire team will put the funds to very good use indeed. I wish the club and all the athletes every success in the future.”
