Some time between Friday, February 28 and Monday, March 3, vandals forced entry to an SELB special needs bus and a mini bus parked in school grounds on Francis Street.

Both buses were vandalised. A window of the school was also smashed and entry gained to an office.

Constable Dobbin, Lurgan Response, said: “This mindless vandalism has resulted in a number of pupils being left without transport for a number of days while the bus is repaired. This is in addition to the financial cost - the school will have to use much needed funds to repair the damage caused.”

“It is sad to see the local community pay the price for the thoughtless actions of a few.

“We are appealing to anyone who noticed any activity around the school over the weekend to contact us, quoting ref: 164030314.

“If you live close to a school and you notice something which looks out of place, no matter how insignificant it may seem, please contact us straight away. We would much rather take the time to check an incident which turns out be regular than miss the opportunity to stop a crime.”
