Sophie has the KEY to success

DROMORE High School pupil Sophie Fletcher has been named the KEY Programme’s Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

The Year 11 student has now been nominated for a trip to Canada later this year.

Sophie recently completed the KEY Programme at Roscor Youth Village in Belleek, Enniskillen.

It was there that she was selected as Young Entrepreneur of the Year.

A school spokesperson said, “Sophie was selected for this award due to her hard work, commitment, leadership qualities and business acumen, which she displayed throughout the 14 day residential programme.

“Sophie has now been nominated along with other successful young entrepreneurs for an all-expenses paid trip to Canada to take part in the Next Generation Leaders Conference in August this year.”

Sophie will find out later this month if she has been selected for the Canada conference.

The successful nominees will be announced at the KEY Graduation Ceremony in Belfast’s Waterfront Hall on May 22.

“Sophie has done extremely well to be selected as a nominee for this opportunity of a lifetime,” said the school spokesperson. “ We are all very proud of her achievements so far and we will be cheering her on at the graduation ceremony.

“All the pupils from Dromore High School have excelled themselves on this years KEY and Sophie’s success is a fair reflection of the overall success of the school on this fantastic, educational and challenging programme.”
