Social Enterprise was top of the agenda at a recent meet and greet event in Craigavon.
Following the Review of Local Government in April 2015, Social Enterprise was one of the new functions which passed to Councils.
Organised by Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, in partnership with Social Enterprise NI, the event brought together representatives from Social Enterprises across the area to meet with key Council Officers to identify ways in which Council can further assist and support their enterprises.
Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, Councillor Darryn Causby said: “Social enterprises play a key role in our social and economic well-being.
“The Council recognises the vital contribution that Social Enterprises make to delivering sustainable growth in the local economy, and is aware that to do this successfully, innovative partnerships are needed.”
