Singer Coyles donates 200 CDs to Children In Need appeal

FINVOY’S Country Boy Alastair Coyles is donating 200 copies of his first song ‘Mind of a Child’ to this year’s Children In Need Appeal.

Each of the CDs will be on sale for a minimum donation of £5 each, which means over £1,000 will be raised for the annual children’s money raising BBC event.

Speaking to the Times, Alastair explained: “The first song I released was for radio airplay only and called ‘Mind of a Child’ which was covered on my good friend Jimmy Buckley’s first album ‘The Grand Tour’ when he started out.

“So I took a thought a few weeks ago about the single and BBC Children In Need Appeal coming up which I’m delighted to be attending for the appeal night on Friday 16th November in the BBC Blackstaff Studios in Belfast.

“With the song being about a child I thought it was appropriate so I decided to contact the BBC about releasing a limited edition amount of copies for the charity.

“With the kindness of three local businesses - Sid McCaughern of SM Motors Ballymoney, Gareth Kane of Gk Designs, Ballymoney and Davy King of DK Tyres on the Ballymaconnelly Road, Rasharkin - who have sponsored the duplication costs of the singles it has allowed 100% of the proceeds to go to the Children In Need Appeal.”

Alastair has been on the Country and Irish music scene for the past eight years with his career going from strength to strength.

He already has three successful albums and DVDs to highlight his successful showbiz career and has recently re-entered the recording studio again to start his forthcoming latest album.

He added: “There will be 200 copies on sale at a minimum donation of £5 each which means when all are sold at least £1,000 will benefit the Children In Need Appeal.

“The singles will be available from Jingles on Main Street, Ballymoney, Campbells Coffee House on High Street, Ballymoney, Dunaghy Filling Station, Finvoy Filling Station, Pappy’s Bakery in Dunloy or by contacting 028 295 71525.

“I would just like to say a massive thank you to everyone for their support and hope together we can raise lots of money for this fantastic charitable event.”
