Sing for Stroke event at Bannville

A '˜Sing for Stroke' event has been organised by Young Women after Stoke Group in aid of the Stroke Association in the Bannville Hotel on Thursday 6 October.

Supporting the group Jo-Anne Dobson MLA has described one member, Anna Corr McCracken’s story as heartbreaking and inspirational.

Commenting Mrs Dobson said: “I had the honour of listening to this wonderful lady as she presented to the All Party Group on Stroke recently at Stormont. She spoke to us with so much passion about her stroke at the age of just 32.

“She described her journey back to health and how she lives daily with the multiple challenges her stroke presented her with.

“Anna bravely describes herself as a Stroke Survivor and not a Victim and I believe she and others who are living daily with the many challenges of their stroke are a true inspiration to all of us.

“That’s why I’m supporting Anna, Valerie McCartney Dale and others from this group and I encourage people to support this terrific cause at the Sing for Stroke event coming up in the Bannville.

“With an exciting line up of singers including Lee Matthews, Colin Elliott, Marty Mone, Brendan Quinn, Cowboy Larry, Warren Smyth and Farmer Dan it is set to be an entertaining evening of fun with a serious message about conquering stroke.

“These women have done so much hard work to raise awareness and much needed funds through their group ‘Young Women After Stroke’ and are deserving of all our support.”
