Simpson sings the praises of Harrison’s ‘Woodland School’
Mrs Jill Hunter the Principal of Harrison Nursery said: “At Harrison Nursery School we are enthusiastic about learning! We are particularly passionate about creativity and the outdoors. In the last three years we have had two public art exhibitions, kindly hosted by Alwood Kitchens, Lurgan.
“So in the last year we decided to focus on developing our outdoor environment and what better way of doing it than creating a Woodland School? Working closely with Lurgan Junior High School, we have fenced off an area which contained some mature trees. For the past six months we have been creating an amazing area for the children to visit each week. So far we have a mud kitchen, rhubarb patch, mini-beast hotel, log circles, trees to climb, pollinator paradise and the resources to build shelters. “Our Woodland School has been affectionately named ‘Harrison Hollows’ and was officially opened in June by Mr Peter Hannan of Hannan Meats, Moira and Mrs L Currie, acting Principal of Lurgan Junior High School.”

They are offering a fantastic service for the children of their nursery and I was really encouraged by the excellent display they have. The distinctive character and ethos of the Nursery is paramount to the all round development of the children within its caring environment.”
