Sign up for kids sports courses

BANBIRDGE District Council is now taking bookings for sports courses available to young people in different parts of the district as part of this year’s Summer Activity Programme.

Courses in multi-sports, dance, table tennis and angling will commence the first week in July with many more to follow later in July and August.

Two courses, multi-sports and dance, will be held at Fairhill Primary School in Kinallen for children aged 5 to 12 from Monday 2 July until Friday 6 July. The multi sports course will run from 10am to 12pm each day followed by the dance course from 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

These two courses have been organised by the Council in conjunction with Banbridge District Sports Association and the Sport NI Lottery Funded initiative, Active Communities.

A table tennis course, which has been organised in conjunction with Table Tennis Ulster, will be held at King George V Playing Fields in Banbridge from Monday 2 July until Friday 6 July from 10am to 12pm each day. This course is open to 8 to 16-year-olds.

All courses will be provided by professional coaches and the cost to participate in the multi sports, dance or table tennis course is £18 for the first child and £14 for the second child from the same immediate family. To register for these courses, contact the Council’s Leisure and Development Department on 4066 0605.

Children aged 8 and over can take part in an angling course at Dromore Community Centre between 10am and 3pm from Monday 2 July until Wednesday 4 July. The cost to participate in this course is £10 per child. Contact Dromore Community Centre on 9269 9070 to register for the angling course.
