Aladdin was played by P7 pupil Nathan Hylands, while Sienna Foster (P7) took on the role of Jasmine.

Old favourites also appeared: Widow Twankey was played by Luke Elwood (P7), and Wishy and Washy were performed by double-act Ryan Elwood (P7) and Calen Donald (P7). Sarah Patton (P7) ensured the plot moved along as Scheherazade, the bride of the Sultan (Noah Doyle P7).

The panto was set in a marketplace, with scenes changing to a desert, a laundrette, the Palace, and of course, the cave, where we meet The Keeper of the Cave (Rachel Sands P6), The Genie (Adam Quinn P6) and the Gems (Emma Turner P6, Ellie Strange P6, Rebekah Beasant P7, Katie Kells P6 and Mollie McDonald P6).

Benjamin Doyle (P6) kept everyone on the edge of their seats as the baddie, Abanazar, and his evil sidekick, who could only speak in rhyme, was played by Alexander Kerr (P7).

Although Jasmine failed to find her husband on ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, a request on ‘Love Struck Radio’ ensured that Aladdin popped the question!

Every pupil in P6 and P7 took part, either on stage or as backstage crew, while dancing was provided by all of Primary 5.

As always, this was a whole school production, with all staff contributing, along with parents, to the success of the performances.
