Shop Challenge to fund new Action Cancer stores
Four members of staff from Mulholland’s Funeral Directors pitched in at the Market Place branch on Thursday afternoon as part of the ‘Shop Challenge’.
Customers visiting the Carrick store were given the chance to win prizes in a tombola and raffle, with free tea and coffee provided by the Mulholland’s volunteers.

“It’s about getting our faces out there in the community and doing what we can to help,” she added.
“Staff have donated quite a bit of stock to the shop as well.”
The funds raised during last year’s challenge went towards a refurbishment of the Carrickfergus branch, said manager Shirley Kearney.

Meanwhile, the charity is planning a fashion show fundraiser in November, to be held in Crumlin Road Gaol.
“Local designers have taken stock from the shop and re-fashioned it into different garments,” said Shirley.
Meanwhile, the branch runs a loyalty card scheme for customers, as well as themed window displays throughout the year.
