Set your table for ‘The Big Lunch’

LOCAL community representatives were among a number of volunteers from the Craigavon, Armagh and Banbridge areas who joined ‘The Big Lunch and Volunteer Now’ launch in Craigavon recently.

Community spirit was definitely on the menu when the two organisations joined community groups from across the area for lunch ahead of Volunteer Week in June.

Chief executive of Volunteer Now, Wendy Osborne, said, “Volunteer Now is delighted to support The Big Lunch as part of Volunteers’ Week 1 – 7 June. Volunteers Week is about celebrating and thanking the many thousands of volunteers who are local heroes in our communities.

“Hundreds of people, from grass roots community groups to large charities, take part in the special week to raise their profile and promote the valuable work they do.”

The Big Lunch date is on Sunday, June 3 during the 28th annual Volunteers’ Week and a free welcome pack is available from the website www.thebiglunch.com
