And, according to police, the incident is just the latest in a series of attacks on the owners’ home and property.

Police in Banbridge confirmed to The Leader they are treating an attack on a car parked outside a property at Seapatrick Avenue, in the early hours of Thursday morning (June 4) as sectarian.

Police say the property has been targetted a number of times in the past three months.

Three incidents have been reported to them this year and they are appealing for information.

The first attack occured on March 9, when a stone was thrown through the front window of the house.

In another incident on March 28 the tyres of a green Peugeot 106, parked outside the property were damaged.

Speaking about the latest incident, Constable Shauna Magennis said, “Sometime between midnight and 2am on Thursday, June 4, the passenger window of a green Peugeot car was broken by a stone.

“This is the latest in several attacks on a house and this car since March, and is being treated as a hate crime by police.

“I would appeal to anyone with any information about this incident or any other incident at this location recently to contact police in Banbridge on 101 quoting reference number 55040615. Information can also be given anonymously through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
