Seapatrick man laid to rest

A keen golfer from Seapatrick has passed away suddenly at Craigavon Area Hospital.

Brendan Joseph Burns of 40 Dickson Park, Seapatrick, died on Saturday February 21. He was the dearly loved husband of Jeanette and devoted father of Sharon and Adrian.

Brendan was formerly from Dromore and met Jeanette at a dance in Banbridge. After their marriage in June 1965 Brendan came to reside in Seapatrick and worked in South Block Downshoes Ltd for 44 years.

He was a member of Banbridge Golf Club and he enjoyed a round of golf and was renowned for his painting and decorating within his local community.

He was known around Banbridge as a charming conversationalist and loved to crack a joke. He is survived by his wife Jeanette, daughter Sharon, son Adrian, daughter-in-law Tracy, grandchildren Claire, Marc, Jake, Chloe, Meg and Ryan, great granddaughter Molly and twin brother Sean (Australia).

The funeral took place from his home on Tuesday to Seapatrick Churchyard. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu of flowers are being sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for The Southern Area Hospice.

William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
