Scam phone calls hit district

The caller claims they are making a courtesy call from Sky and gives out a phone number to ring in order to receive a discount for subscriptions and asks for payment details.

The number which is given, appears to have been used for other scams over the last few years and seems to be operating across the whole of the UK.

Some victims have reported sums up to £190 being taken from their bank accounts after they passed on their details.
