Roads Service may use town office

ROADS Service has confirmed it is considering using the Old Town Hall as a base when their Banbridge office officially closes at the end of the year.

The office in Newry Street closed to the public in April but will still be used by staff until the end of the year.

The Banbridge Section office is now merged with Craigavon but, after councillors expressed concern at the closure announcement, Chief Executive Liam Hannaway wrote to Divisional Roads Manager Kevin Monaghan offering use of the newly refurbished Old Town Hall.

In his repsonse, Mr Monaghan said, “I am pleased the council values the support and assistance from the local Roads Service office and I can assure you my staff will continue to maintain the service level currently provided.”
