RICHARD Alexander Waugh passed away peacefully at his home in Blackskull on November 2 aged 61 years.

Richard, with his bright and cheery outlook on life, had a wide circle of friends who were shocked and saddened to hear of his death.

His funeral service, held in Donaghcloney Presbyterian Church, was conducted by Rev A Moffett and assisted by Rev J Hagan. Tribute to Richard’s life was paid by his nephew Ian Moore who recalled fond memories of a person who loved music, travelling and meeting people and enjoyed many sporting interests - attending rugby matches, horse and motorbike races.

No challenge was too great for Richard.

Ian described him as an achiever whose positive attitude to life was an inspiration to all who knew him. After completing his education in Lurgan College and Parkanaur College, Richard joined the staff in Graham’s in Dromore. He was then employed for more than 30 years by Craigavon Borough Council where he was a popular and esteemed member of staff.

He held the position of senior finance officer until he had to take early retirement. He also served for many years as Honorary Treasurer of Donaghcloney Branch Royal British Legion.

Richard’s passing is deeply regretted by his mother Mr Maimie Waugh, brother Bill, sister Barabara, sister-in-law Alice, brothers-in-law Jackie and Ray, nephews Brian, Mark, Ian, Philip, Peter and neices Jane, Emma and Louise.

He will be greatly missed by his friends and all the members of his family circle.
