Donna Barr (38), Castleview, Gilford, was charged with pursuing a course of harassment against a male between July 1 and October 13 last year.

She was also accused of sending by means of a public electronic communications network a number of messages which were grossly offensive or indecent, obscene or of a menacing character during the same period.

Barr had pleaded not guilty and the case had been listed as a contest at last Thursday’s court.

But a public prosecutor said that after discussions had taken place no evidence would be offered in the case and asked the judge to dismiss the charges.

She added that this was on the condition the defendant accepted a caution and agreed to a two year restraining order.

District Judge, Mr Eamonn King, dismissed the charges and imposed the restraining order on the defendant.
