Mr McCrum said: “The bus stop sign was located outside number The Mews and very recently the pole has been knocked down.

“We believe that Translink got rid of the pole and placed the bus stop further down the estate on a street lighting pole.

“The issue is if the bus stop stays there the residents have to walk from the footpath across the grass to get the bus, in wet weather the grass area becomes very muddy.

“We have contacted Translink to ask for flag slabs to be placed across the grass area or to put the pole back up where it was originally located. I hope we can bring this to a speedy conclusion as a lot of elderly residents use this stop.”

A Translink spokesperson said:“We are aware of the complaint regarding the location of the Ulsterbus stop at Iveagh Drive and will be working with the residents to resolve the issue.”
