Reece has battled illness

Two year old Reece, who lives with his mum and dad Steven Curran and Jenna McConnell in Hillhall, has had a difficult start to his young life.

He had his first major surgery at just eight weeks old when a shunt was put into his heart. And just a couple of week ago Reece underwent yet another major heart repair surgery.

This is not the end of his journey, however, as the new valve that was put into his heart will have to be replaced every ten years.

Despite this, his dad Steven says Reece is a happy, hyperactive child who sailed through the operations. “His mum and I couldn’t believe how well he did,” added Steven.

Grandmother Liz, who nominated Reece, added: “He’s such a brave little boy and his parents love him to bits. He still has future surgeries ahead and has been slow to progress, please take him into consideration for this reward.”
