Raymond’s sense of humour shone through

The death has taken place of Raymond Edmond Halliday who passed away on 25th August.

Ray was known as an amazing man. He had a wonderful sense of humour throughout his 90 years which often shone through when he was reminiscing about all stages of his life.

He loved his farm and kept it well maintained until late in life.A builder by trade, he made many work friends through the years

In his younger days he cycled to many jobs a good distance away. Then he acquired his various motorbikes and this allowed him to go further afield.

After courting for a long spell, he married Maureen McClements and settled in Kenlis Street. Then he acquired a car and they enjoyed touring the countryside. The couple attended Bannside Presbyterian Church.

The Lord gave Ray his independence right up to the last week of his life which was spent in Daisy Hill Hospital where he was given wonderful care and comfort.

The Service of Thanksgiving and Remembrance at Bannside Presbyterian Church was conducted by the Rev. Dr. Mark Gray followed by the interment in Glascar Presbyterian Church burial ground.

The funeral was carried out in a very dignified way by William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors.

He is survived by his sister Florence Park and his nephews and nieces. William Bell and Co. had charge of the funeral arrangements.
