“The current committee are extremely busy at the minute working on a number of exciting new projects and we desperately need some new faces to take on the public events side of things.

“These events include the Fair Day, last year’s first ever 10k and the Christmas Switch-on.

“We aren’t getting any younger and events like this take a huge amount of commitment, so the time is right to get some fresh blood on board.”

Anyone who thinks they would like to get involved is invited to attend a meeting on Tuesday February 25 in Bingham’s Church Square, Rathfriland at 8pm.

Member Kathy Wilson added: “I too would make an appeal for some new members to get involved with the work of Rathfriland Regeneration Group. Event organisation is hugely rewarding and its great to see the huge level of support for everything we showcase in Rathfriland.

“However, we need more help and if events like the Fair Day are to continue, then we need the public to get behind us and get involved.

“Anyone who is interested or wants more information, please come along to the meeting, or call 07712671986.”
