Rainey School named in top 100 in UK

THE principal of Rainey Endowed School has expressed his delight after the school was named one of the top 100 in the UK.

The Magherafelt school was also listed as one of the top ten schools in Northern Ireland.

Head Mark McCullough described the news as “a phenomenal achievement” and paid tribute to the work of staff and pupils.

Recent figures reveal that 76 per cent of all A Level grades were at A*-B, while 53 per cent of all GCSE grades were A*/A

“This is a phenomenal achievement reflecting the excellent teaching and learning, leadership, outstanding curriculum and pastoral care of the school, coupled with caring staff, willing pupils and supportive parents,” said Mr McCullough.

“This school is a beacon of the community and we will continue to build on its successes by developing our three way partnership of school, child and parent.”

Mr McCullough said the Rainey will continue to seek new methods to improve further and work towards strengthening its aims of being a caring schoo, working with, and across, the community and being committed to academic excellence.
