Quails Fine Foods, Banbridge has committed to supporting the local pig farming industry by selling ‘Assured Origin’ NI Pork Christmas Gammons this Christmas.
The renowned local butcher has been working with the award winning local pork product supplier FC Robinson for over 25 years and has agreed to continue selling premium quality ‘Assured Origin’ Christmas Gammons to their customers in the build up to busiest retail period of the year.
The relationship has been commended by The Ulster Pork and Bacon Forum, the industry body responsible for devising the ‘Assured Origin’ scheme to promote Northern Irish pork products to shoppers throughout Northern Ireland.
Norman Robson, Chairman of the Pork & Bacon Forum advised: “This commitment made by Quails Fine Foods and their relationship with FC Robinson genuinely helps us protect our local industry.
“Christmas Gammons that bear the ‘Assured Origin’ logo not only support the agricultural sector in Northern Ireland but are also guaranteed to be the best quality ham you can have with your Christmas dinner.”
The ‘Assured Origin’ label has been developed to help the local industry produce clear, consistent and unambiguous labelling to promote Northern Ireland Pork.
The label tells shoppers that the product has been inspected, conforms to industry standards and that the producers and processors have committed to routine surveillance and ongoing spot checks to ensure the products conform to some of the highest possible standards throughout Europe.
Joseph Quail of Quails Fine Foods, is delighted to be supporting the local industry: “Our customers expect us to supply them with the best quality meat available and we work very hard to ensure the products we sell are not only the best quality but also help support the local industry.
“This Christmas customers who order their turkeys, hams and other festive meats from Quails Fine Foods can guarantee the best quality produce and the best advice on how to cook them, hopefully making this year’s Christmas dinner one to remember.”
