Punched victim in the face as he tried to walk away

Anthony Scappaticci, Victoria Park, Banbridge, admitted the assault charge which had happened on September 12 of last year.

He was sentenced to one month in prison.

The court heard that at 4pm the injured party was walking through Solitude Park when the defendant asked him to fight.

The victim refused and began to walk away. Scappaticci struck him on the face under both eyes.

The injured party was upset and there was swelling under his eyes.

A barrister representing the defendant said Scappaticci, who is currently serving a prison sentence, had a release date in March.
